I am Founder and President of Service at MakeShyft R.D.A. My co-Founder, life-partner, baby daddy and CEO is Tom Glod. MakeShyft is our startup that began in December 2010. My life's work has grown and evolved over many years. I feel like I have come into a position where my heart, mind and soul are aligned with my purpose. I am grateful to have founded this company and to be bringing it to the world with Tom and many other amazing people by our sides.
MakeShyft R.D.A is what we work on, towards and for every day, because our Company is the way we can give, in the greatest way possible, service to our world. We have learned that the way to help the greatest amount of people in the shortest amount of time, is through technology. We have asked for and received some powerful answers that are here to help our world to communicate, cooperate and be at peace. It has sincerely been a joyful journey to bring forward these ideas and create these project(s), but it also has been a great fear I have had to overcome. I have had to step aside from fear, and learn to grow and evolve as a person, as a partner and as a company. I am still learning and growing.
We are a Research, Development and Application Company. We have extensively (R)esearched the projects in our pipeline for the last 5 years and are nearly complete in the (D)evelopment phase of our first product; the Universal Mediation Program. We are within a few weeks of launching this Conflict Resolution & Prevention Software into Version 0.99. It is then that our (A)pplication phase and Series Round 1 will begin.
We will also be starting a ShyftMakers PODCAST! We will be documenting the process we go through in launching U.M.P, but more importantly, talk about worldly issues that need to be discussed at this time, and interview people who are building technology or offering service for transformation, at scale.

Here is the story how MakeShyft R.D.A began
Our story begins on December 21, 2010 when six people dedicated to positive change came together in Britney's home for a winter solstice & potluck celebration. We ate amazing food and shared insights and experiences with each other until we found a common theme among us all.
The common element was a passion for change and transformation in our current educational system. We all realized one thing, that there "must be another way" to offer education. We were willing and open to being the ones to bring New Education to our world. We made a formal agreement, literally held hands, bowed our heads and welcomed this idea in gratitude. There was a collective feeling of “Don’t just talk about it, DO IT.” And so we did.As soon as Tom got home from the meeting he called me (Britney) to tell me he got a domain name so we could start working on the School / Community Center immediately. We both immediately jumped into the Research & Development of the Center for the One with both feet.
We soon moved in together, traveled and lived flying by the seat of their pants in order to do what we needed to do to develop this idea. Each new idea built on top of the other ideas and it continued to expand and grow. During one of our brain-storm sessions, we realized they wanted to offer a Conflict Resolution Service to our students. We thought that one of the most helpful approaches that this service could take, is to be based on the lawa of equality so that it remains entirely unbiased and everyone is seen as worthy of communication and agreement. Just earlier in our discussion, we were mentioning how computers help humans in so many ways. Predominately because they follow laws and help us to solve our hard problems. Tom and I thought and asked together, " I wonder if we can put this law of equality/giving into an app?" We paused, and saw it. We saw the tools, the questions, the statements, the building blocks of communication in our minds. We were overjoyed and instantly inspired to create what we were seeing. This happened in Nov 2011 and it marked the beginning of the research & development of the Universal Mediation Program (U.M.P).
Through our intense research, we also invented two other projects that are now in our MakeShyft Pipeline. Our now 4 products & projects were soon shown to us as enormous endeavors that are part of our life's work here. This is when we were inspired to have an umbrella term that suited both us as individuals and all of our projects as a whole. This is when "MakeShyft" presented itself through a friend and roommate at the time Ryan, as the perfect name for how we makeshyfted our company to help make-a-shyft for our collective experience.
Our ideas are big, but so is our commitment, creativity and follow through with our ideas. We love what we do and love who we are doing it for. We are also grateful to the many people in our lives who have contributed to our ability to commit so fully to these ideas. And we are grateful for the teams and open-sourced technologies that have been made available for us to use to actually do this. We literally are on the shoulders of giants and have so much gratitude in our hearts.
