I wanted to share this video here, as I recorded it while Tom and I were still living/travelling in California in 2014 and staying with a friend also named Tom in LA. The reason I felt so called to share this was because during that time we were pregnant, with nearly no money and no idea where we were going to live after our stay with our friend. The conversations Tom and I would have were those of gentle reminders to trust God and His plan and that fear is unnecessary here. All we continued to feel was gratitude, enjoyed our time with our friend, and looked forward to the unveiling of what God had in store for us.
One afternoon in September I felt a prompt to make a video. I told Tom to go into the other room so that I could do it. I turned the camera on, asked for guidance and opened to this section in A Course in Miracles "The Total Commitment". I knew more than anything that what I wanted was to be totally committed to the goal of peace. What better way to affirm ones own commitment/goal then to GIVE it! So I did just that, I gave the message and peace that was on my heart, during a time that for most, would be very difficult and fearful. I was grateful to share and also grateful to all the people around the world who have reached out to me in gratitude because of it. I had to share this on my blog, as its worth a listen again. Peace to us all.

A little story about what happened AFTER I made this video
It turns out that in asking for nothing, but simply giving from my heart through this video, that I received everything!!! This video was uploaded and within 2 weeks a man I had only known through random comments on my videos, mentioned that if we ever needed a place to stay in Central California that we are welcome there. We felt called to reach back to him, and the instant we did we KNEW he was Gods Answer to our prayers!! We were in Southern California at the time and wanted to make it to Northern California so we felt this was the perfect way to make that happen....yet we did not know any other details then that.
It turned out that his wife was going to be at a show that upcoming weekend, only 10 minutes from where we were staying, and was willing (after lots of coaxing) to drive us up to her husbands shop. Little did we know, that this encounter between the four of us (soon to be more because of their amazing kids) would be one of the most miraculous and joyful experiences of our lives!!! We ended up living with them for 6 months because of how blessed we all knew we were to be brought together in a way such as this. The full story (well, as much as I could put to word anyway) is written in another blog called "California Livin'" that you can find here.
About a year later, when we finally had our beautiful baby girl, and still flying by the seat of our pants, it was again time to find a home. The way Tom and I work, is our main priority in life is NOT to supply ourselves with the comforts of this world, but instead to ONLY do as God would have us do. Through this we have learned that it is the relationships with others that are most valuable and that our peace of mind IS an inward experience and has nothing to do with having or not having the things of this world. This lesson has been so incredibly valuable and FUN that I would not change a single thing about the way we live our life. Back to the needing another home again. We were at my mothers for a few months during the birth of our baby, which was somewhere that I never thought I would live at again, but turned out that we were all needed there for healing and joining in purpose together. It ended up being beautiful. A time I will forever cherish to have done with my mom. She was there for the final months of pregnancy, through the birth and into the first few weeks of Ella's life on earth. So precious it was. But it got to a point where the energy was complete, there was still some shifts that needed to take place inside my mother in order realize what we are doing and why..... so it was time to move on. We packed our bags, were ready to leave and just needed to place to go!
The only guidance I received was go through my messages on facebook and write to those who wrote to me. So I did that. I got 1 response and it was from a woman that I had only spoken too once, many months before. She had messaged me on facebook in response to this video below, saying how she was grateful for it and she too wanted to be totally committed. When I wrote her about our position in life and that we were in need of a home, her heart opened to us, she immediately said it was an answer to her prayer as well because she recently asked God to bring like-minded souls into her life to help her out. (just like the family in California! We are always an answer to eachothers prayers... thats how miracles work!)
Any ways..... she said she had an empty room with a bed, she was moving in 3 weeks so that was perfect time for us to find a more stable home and to be with her (and her son) for the perfect amount of time. She also lived 5 minutes from my moms!! Enabling the transition to be nearly effortless. The time we spent with her cultivated a forever friend. A relationship that we all cherish and are truly truly grateful for. She needed us as much as we needed her and again, I would not have traded that experience in for all the luxury or stability this world could provide. Being stable in our heart with God, and being able to bless and be blessed is an out of this world experience that everyone deserves to open their hearts to have.
She was amazing, and still is. She helped us so much during that time in many small little ways. We kept our eyes open for a home that would be a more permanent residence, but nothing was showing up. The 3 weeks went by so fast. She was moving out on the Saturday and had her home until the Sunday, where she signed the papers to hand it over. It was the Friday that we finally found an apartment that might work. It was close to where she lived and the price was right. We checked it out but it seemed bigger then we were hoping for because with our travels, we gave nearly everything we owned away! We waited on making a decision until Sunday. We even slept on an air mattress for a night just to be sure we are not jumping into a decision, and that something else wasn't going to pop up (which has happened before!) Since nothing else presented itself we said YES to this apartment. It was so close to mom, family and friends. Once we moved in, we had extra stuff given to us by our friend who did not needed it going into her new place; the random boxes I did not know I had at my moms; and anything else that came into our path during this time. By Monday, we had a full house!!! Everything we needed!! In the kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom, it was perfect. Of course we have upgraded some things as time has gone by (been here 7 months now) but we had everything we needed. It also turned out that our landlords are amazing God loving people. Its a couple and their 4 year old daughter. They are rarely home cause they have so many friends and our place is very clean and newly renovated. We have many many many parks that surround us, and trails that go on for miles! We have a community center 10 minutes from here where Ella does her swimming lessons and shopping malls/grocery stores to fulfill our every need. We even have a beach that is a 5 min drive or 20 min walk and its beautiful!!! Everything is perfect!!!! We left it to God, and as always.. it aligns in the most magical and perfect way.
What I have learned most from this, is patience is the key. Gods plan always works, its always got our back, but we have to be patient long enough to NOT interfere! If we stay in the faith and patience and trust, everything will align itself to show us that we are taken care of and everything that is given us is far greater then we could have or would have ever found or decided for on our own. God always knows our best interest, always!!! and we can trust him!! We will never lose anything in following him, we can only gain. Yet what we gain is so far beyond ego's little conception of what it thinks we want, that we have to be willing to receive what God would have us have and realize that what we value most is healthy relationships founded in love and purpose, a joyful life filled with laughter and inspiration, and gifts that are both given and received continually. Life is AMAZING when we are totally committed to the goal of following only Gods Plan for Peace.
